Fluffies times three

Somedays I operate on coffee. There is always the morning stovetop brews at home, and if I’m having an office day I’ll also get to enjoy one or more throughout the day from one of my locals. Today I called in to Superfino with the kids for a late afternoon fix – Jonny hooked us up with a flatty for me and fluffies times three.

Cot bumpers [for sale on Trade Me]

Way back here I posted about making these, and now they are up for sale here. Its clearout time

When Sabina was starting to crawl and pull herself up I noticed how often she bumped her head, especially in the cot. I looked around for some cot bumpers and discovered I would get no change from $50 if I bought 2 of them from the store.

So I made her these cot bumpers, with a sweet fabric from Global Fabrics and some foam. Basically they are formed like a long pillowcase with an overlapping joint in the middle, and then ties are sewn in at various points along the side seams.

Now that the twins are sitting/toppling over I have re-employed the cot bumpers in this cot, which we use as a play-pen and spare cot when babies come to visit.

Now that should solve the bumpity bumps of the cot bumpers!

Lido Ngakau (a.k.a Ngax) and Thomasin Paerangi ( buta.k.a Thomi Paepae) are now 3. I was dead out of inspiration for their cake/s but ended up making a puss n boots cake with our (hmmm hmmmm) mcdonalds happy meal toys on top of a swiss meringue and butter icing on a doubled Edmonds one egg chocolate cake ( tripling the cocoa content).
