Sabina is pretending to talk on a cellphone. First she calls her Dad, speaking in Maori. Then she calls her Nana, speaking in English. In Maori cellphone is waea pukoro – or “pocket phone”. The clip ends with us putting her shorts on and she tries to locate her pocket to put her phone into. Thoughout the clip I speak to her in very basic te reo Maori.
