We took turns to discuss our purpose for being here. I was amazed to see so many who have a vision of a bi-lingual Maori/English country. Of finding their place as New Zealanders which includes Te Ao Maori. Others like me are learning the language of our ancestors for our future generations.
We also brainstormed the above whakatauki and related them to various situations.
HOMEWORK: For homework we will translate/ then find meaning in the whakatauaki of Sir Apirana Ngata: “E Tipu e Rea”.
