The play doughs and play don’ts

After breakfast Sabina asked for some Playdough. She and Thomi sat patiently at the little table waiting while it cooked and cooled.  Thomi and Lido both still try to eat it.  I don’t know when they will give that up and just play with it.  The play doughs and play don’ts.


2 cups flour

1 cup table salt

4 teaspoons of cream of tartar

2 cups water

2 tablespoons of oil

1 teaspoon food dye

Mix all in a saucepan then heat and stir until mixture is thick and threatens to break the stirring spoon.  Spoon off onto a floured board to cool down a bit.  Knead while still warm.  Keeps well in an airtight container.

  1. another play dough “tip” – put it in a plastic bag in the fridge lasts twice as long as in an airtight container.

  2. i just made playdough last week with my boys my little one still eats it but he is only 14 months old so i cut him some slack !! besides they are such pretty colours, looks tasty …
